Chris Brown Heads to Court Over Rehab Incident

Singer could spend more than a month in jail for getting booted from a Malibu treatment center.

Chris Brown will appear in a Los Angeles County Courtroom Monday (March 17), where a judge will determine if he will remain in jail for getting kicked out of rehab, reports the Associated Press.
Brown, 24, was arrested Friday (March 14), and spent the weekend locked up in downtown Los Angeles. The Virginia-born crooner is on five years probation for beating Rihanna back in 2009. He was ordered to complete 90 days in a Malibu, Calif., center following an alleged assault on a fan in Washington, D.C., last October. Breezy was required to stay in rehab for anger management or face imprisonment.

While in treatment, the Grammy winner was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and post traumatic stress syndrome.

Prosecutors have not yet announced if more jail time will be recommended for Brown. His lawyer, Mark Geragos, is expected to ask that the Grammy winner be transferred to another facility or be sentenced to house arrest until his April court date for the D.C. attack.

Despite high performance marks and extending his stay, Brown was subsequently booted from the program last week. No information has been released about the dismissal, but according to TMZ he broke "internal rules" of some sort.

Superior Court Judge Jams R. Brandlin revoked Brown's probation twice last year, and after so many run-ins with the law (also including in 2013, when he was accused of a hit-and-run, and allegedly assaulted a club goer in Southern California, in two separate incidents) the "Fine China" singer's luck may have finally run out.

Although a probation violation hearing has not yet been announced, if Brandlin sides against another rehab stay, Brown could remain locked up until April 23.
