Sandra Bullock accepts the Desert Palm Achievement - Actress award onstage during the 25th annual Palm Springs …
At the 25th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala on Saturday, Sandra Bullock drew the laughs and brought the crowd to its feet when accepting the Desert Palm Achievement Award.
"I thought maybe it would be a nice fun approach to this evening to do, maybe, something different, so I Googled myself and read the comments section, thinking I would get some tidbits of what people really think of me and share them " she said, bringing a light-hearted vibe to the event. "Never read the comments section … or Google oneself, at anytime...
"Apparently,
Julia [Roberts], I don't know where you are, you and I are in a dispute
over George Clooney," Sandra said to a crowd full of laughs. "We talked
about this, right? It's a shared custody."

Sandra also spoke of the big theme of the night, which was an appreciation of cinema.
"I
was watching beautiful stories about people struggling in everyday life
in a world they don't think they belong in," she said. "I was watching
old friends create characters that blow my mind and made me absolutely
speechless. And I was also watching heartbreaking stories about our past
in this country that make me so proud to be in this business, because
one day, they will show my son how far we've come."
Sandra
concluded with sincere appreciation … and one more age-related dig.
"From this not particularly talented, attractive, mediocre, or over 40,
I'm so grateful, and thankful."
Meryl
Streep wasn't about to let her have all the fun: "Everything that
Sandra Googled about herself, they say about me too, except they say
over 60."
