Former coach of the Golden Eaglets, Fanny Amun, has hailed the return of Joseph Yobo to the Super Eagles.
The former Flying Eagles coach told
our correspondent after briefing the media about the birth of his
Non-Governmental Organisation, Youth Initiative 4 Employment &
Transparency in Leadership, in Abuja, that Yobo’s return to the
national team would help his career.
He said, “We hope that the team will
perform creditably in the World Cup in Brazil. I will not make comments
about the team for now until the squad for the World Cup is released.
“But, I think he (Yobo) has no other
time in his career that is golden than this. He has to put in everything
humanly possible to make the final list because he would make history
in his career.”
On Nigerian football, Amun said, “ It
has not been too bad like in the past. But I just believe and wish that
the players move to the next level.”
