 By Saharareporters, New York

Senate Spokesperson Enyinnaya Abaribe has confirmed that President Jonathan forwarded the name of Godwin Emefiele, Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc, to the Senate for confirmation as CBN Governor.
Emefiele is to replace Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, whose tenure expires in June but was suspended earlier today by the president, on allegations of financial reckless and misconduct.
Sanusi was directed to hand over to Dr. Sarah Alade, the most senior deputy governor in the bank, who will serve as Acting Governor “until the conclusion of ongoing investigations into breaches of enabling laws, due process and mandate of the bank”.
The President also nominated Adelabu Adekoya as Deputy Governor. The Presidency conveyed Emefiele’s nomination in a letter to Senate President, David Mark, which was read on the floor of the Senate.
Ousted CBN governor Lamido Sanusi is still airborne returning from a trip to the Niger Republic where heard about his suspension by President Jonathan.
