NEWS: IMPLEMENTATION OF UNIUYO COUNCIL'S DECISION

IMPLEMENTATION OF COUNCIL DECISION IN RESPECT OF THE STUDENTS’ DISTURBANCE OF JUNE 12, 2013 
The University of Uyo Governing Council, at its 61 st Meeting of September 25, and 26 th , 2013 received and considered the report of the Investigation Panel constituted to investigate the remote and immediate causes of students’ disturbance of June 12, 2013. 
The Council directed as follows: 
(i) that all students of the University must sign forms of undertaking to be of good behavior before the date of resumption which will be announced in due course. The form of undertaking which must be co- signed by a guarantor can be accessed on the University website www.uniuyo.edu.ng
(ii) in addition to the above, all Engineering students are required to pay a surcharge of N10,000.00 each while others with the exception of  Pre- degree, Sandwich, Part-Time and Post- Graduate students are to pay N7,500.00 each; 
(iii) the payment of the surcharge should be made at any of the underlisted banks and obtain a Transaction Pin: 
(a) UNIUYO Microfinance Bank Ltd (b) Zenith Bank PLC (c) UBA PLC (d) Wema Bank PLC (e) Ecobank PLC (f) Skye Bank PLC      
PROCEDURE FOR ACCESSING THE UNDERTAKING FORM 
All students should access the University Website at www.uniuyo.edu.ng , and observe the following procedure: 
(a) log into the surcharge/undertaking section; 
(b) select the type of programme (e.g. Regular, Post-graduate, Pre- degree, Part-time, Sandwich); 
(c) enter your Transaction PIN obtained from the Bank. For those exempted, enter your password (e.g. your Registration number);  
(d) fill in the required details; 
(e) upload a colour passport photograph with a red background; 
(f) Print out the undertaking forms. 
(iv) the form should be downloaded  and completed within two (2) weeks with effect from Wednesday, December 4, 2013. 
(v) on resumption, the teller for payment made  should be presented to each Faculty Finance Officer and a University receipt obtained; 
(vi) the completed form for the undertaking duly signed by both the student and the guarantor should be submitted to the Faculty Officer along with the receipt for the surcharge on resumption of studies. (vii) All students are to comply with the above directives before resumption of studies.
